Programs and Events

OUR YOUTH ARE THE FUTURE OF THE CHURCH

The word "Disciple" means learner.
There are ample opportunities for learning at First United Methodist Church.

Our youngest children enjoy the "Rainbow Connections"

Children ages 5-12, get to participate in the "Promised Land" which follows the workshop rotation model. Children get to experience their lessons in a variety of ways, including many different specially designed rooms. Church educators from around the Midwest have come to see the facilities for this program!

Adult Classes

During the summer months, adults may participate in the "Summer Smorgasbord," which covers a variety of subjects such as the Bible, music, social issues, and family and personal concerns.  All are welcome to attend.

There are 3 adult classes that meet on Sunday mornings throughout the regular schedule (September - May). In addition, the Pastor offers a Lenten Bible Study.

Potpourri Class
Join us in the Parlor Sunday mornings at 9:45 for the Potpourri Class. We are a group of friends meeting to share new ideas and explore old ideas. Our goal is to mold diversity into community.

Merrimates
The Merrimates invite everyone to join us as we gather on the third floor at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings from September through May. We enjoy a time of fellowship over coffee and light refreshments followed by a presentation. The presenters are members of our faith community who give generously of their time to share some aspect of their faith journey. Our class could be the means of the spiritual growth and fellowship you are seeking. All are welcome. Come and see!

This and That
This and That is couples and families studying various topics and interpreting our everyday lives in a Christian context. We meet Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. in Room #22 on the second floor.
